How much notice do I need to give if I want to move house with one of your containers?
Always try to give us as much forward notice as you can. We can generally arrange most relocations though if you book your container 7 days in advance of when you need it.
What size container will I need to move the contents of my house?
A 20 foot sea container will generally accommodate the contents of an average 3 bedroom house or a small 4 bedroom house. We recommend that if you are in doubt, make a list of your furniture etc and estimate how many boxes you will fill then call us. We will calculate your approximate volume over the phone and provide advice as to which container you should hire or buy.
Can I inspect the container before I buy it?
Whenever possible we encourage that. Many of our containers are stored in large container parks and general access by the public is not permitted for safety reasons. In those circumstances we accurately describe and guarantee the container that we are offering for sale. We can sometimes also provide photos.

Remember that your move starts when you carry the first item out of the house and ends when you place the last item into your new house (at least 90% of damages occur during loading and unloading).
Can I get packaging supplies from Fernandos?
Yes. We sell a number of different sized boxes, bubblewrap, packing paper, packing tape, mattress and lounge protectors. We offer a 15% discount on all merchandise when you book a removal with us.
Do I sign a contract when storing a container?
Yes, you sign a contract for the first month of storage. After the first month, we continue month by month until you give us 14 days notice that you will need the container delivered.
Do I pay rent weekly or monthly?
Rentals are paid monthly in advance. If you move out with rental credits owing, we will refund these back to your credit card or by cheque.
Are my goods insured while stored in a container?
No. You must take out your own insurance if you want your goods to be covered by insurance. Fernandos does not have insurance cover for your goods stored in the container. Insurance can be done on line at:
